A Different Way to Farm

Lakeside Prairie Farm is a small family farm focusing on goat grazing for invasive species control and custom grazing beef. Bryan and Jessie Simon’s goal is to produce an ecologically restorative service, while improving soil health, water quality, wildlife habitat, and the vitality of our rural community.  Got buckthorn?  We're here for you!  Our goal is to help you restore your wild spaces from acres choked with buckthorn to a more open area you can explore and enjoy.  What sets us apart from other farms is our commitment to improving and maintaining the native prairie, wetlands, and oak savanna in our region.  We’re located in west central Minnesota, near Barrett, 30 miles west of Alexandria.  We would love to show you around our farm and bring our goats to you.
